Jürgen Wettke was born in 1953 in Hagen, Westphalia. In addition to his successful career in the pharmaceutical industry as well as in a leading position with a large international management consultancy–his truest passion has long been photography. More important for him than the technology is perspective and the use of light. In recent years his work has increasingly been devoted to landscape photography. With his photographs he hopes to evoke emotions in the viewer and create a greater awareness of the fragility of our planet’s ecosystems. He has published Die Kunst des Wattenmeeres and The Namib Desert with teNeues, accompanied by exhibitions in Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Salzburg.
